Engineers Day’17 Celebration in YIT

Every year on September 15th, YIT celebrates the “Engineer’s Day” to commemorate the birthday of the legendary engineer Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya (1861-1962), an eminent Indian engineer. Function was invoked by the seeking the blessing of almighty. Chief Guest Dr. Ashok Rao, Former Project Head, CADET. IISC, Bangalore garlanded Sir.M. V. photo as token of respect accompanied by Principal Dr. R.G. D’ Souza.

Dr. Rao in his address spoke about changing faces of engineering and management in education system and contribution of young engineers towards developing INDIA. Dr. Rao was felicitated for his achievement in engineering. Dr. R. G. D’ Souza, Principal of YIT and Prof. Gangadhar, HOD of ECE presided over the function.

Graduation Day’17 Celebration in YIT

Yenepoya of Technology & Management (YIT) organized graduation day ceremony at the institute premises on 6th August 2017.  Graduates who passed out during the academic year 2016-17 received  their graduation certificates from the chief guest, Chief Guest, Prof. K Uma Maheshwar Rao, Director NITK, Suratkal and Mr. Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, Chancellor of Yenepoya University.

In his address to the graduates, Prof. Rao stated that a person can achieve success  in his life only when he possess self-power, behavioral skills and concern about the relationships.

The dignitaries on the dais also included the Governing Council Members, Mr.Ramachandra Shetty and Akthar Hussain, Principal Dr. R G D’Souza, HODs of the various branches Dr. Sathisha N,(ME), Prof. Gangadhar(ECE), Prof. Guru Prasad (CSE), Prof. Pandu(ISE), Prof. Prasanna (EEE).


YEN-ONAM Celebrated in YIT…


The wish that Maaveli was granted by Lord Vishnu was to be able to see his people once every year and Yenepoya Institute of Technology (by YITians) ensured that the sight he saw this year was a grand one indeed!

YIT celebrated Onam on the college premises amidst much fanfare involving staff and students of the institute. The celebrations started with setting up of an attractive floral decoration (pookalam) in the reception area that was reminiscent of the agrarian past of Kerala, a South Indian state. Impressive designs and artistic creativity were the hallmarks of the Pookalam, which turned out to be attractive and mesmerizing and took everyone into a world of festivity and fun.

Other main special attraction Thiruvaathira Dance (folk dance around pookalam),  Mahabali of Yenepoya (YITian), jovial games and delicious ONAM special food included with varieties of vegetables, rice, banana and payasam.

YEN-ONAM’17 left memories which will be cherished forever.

ICT Academy Membership Exchange & Inauguration of DellEMC External Research and Academic Alliance at YIT

ICT Academy is an initiative of the Government of India in collaboration with state governments and industries. ICT Academy works with a unique delivery model infused with domain specific expertise. ICT Academy enables all global enterprises to address a dual mandate to make the current education ecosystem efficient and on par with industry standards and to invest in innovation to unleash inherent potential in the future workforce.

ICT Academy is recently endorsed and recommended by NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India Aayog), the National Planning body of Government of India as one of the unique organization for dissemination and replication, which is aligned to the Skill India Vision of the Government of India.  The ICT Academy has recently inaugurated  Regional offices at New Delhi, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and north eastern state of Guwahati.

Yenepoya Institute of Technology, Mangalore, Karnataka has recently become the Institutional Member of ICT Academy. Through this membership, Yenepoya Institute of Technology will be benefited with Faculty Development Training Programs, Skill Development programs for students, Youth initiatives, Research and Industry – Institute Interaction.

Yenepoya Institute of Technology is also implementing DellEMC External Research and Academic Alliance in their institution in association with ICT Academy.

ICT Academy along with DellEMC has designed the programs for Technical Institutions across the nation to introduce graduating students to Data Science and Big Data Analytics. These initiatives equip the students with required technical skills to complement their chosen fields of study. By instituting this program DellEMC seek a collaborative relationship with universities & institutions in India whereby the students may obtain the industry training and international certifications which could enable employment in firms seeking skilled workers. ICT Academy in association with its corporate partners DellEMC, VMware and Autodesk is planning to set up such centre of academic alliances in the colleges of Karnataka.

Independence Day Celebration 2017

Yenepoya Institute of Technology  celebrated the Nations 71st Independence Day, with great enthusiasm and national pride. The day started with the Dr. R. G. D’ Souza, Principal, YIT escorted by Physical Director Mr. Lokesh hoisting the national flag  followed by the national anthem. The Principal emphasized the need for unity among diverse students. At the same time faculty members and students of the institute took the oath to work for better India. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for everyone to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.

Orientation Day-2017

Yenepoya Institute of Technology , Moodabidri organized an orientation programme for the newly admitted B.E students at the institute premises on 31 July 2017. The major objective of the programme was to make the parents and students aware of the academic aspects of the course, the rules and regulations of the Institute and ensuring parental participation in monitoring the performance and progress of the students and also at the same time toppers of the even semester students were felicitated by the dignitaries.
